16/08/2008 - CONDEMINATION OF BRUTARITY AGAINST WOMEN ON HIV AND AIDS RELATED GROUNDS
The Uganda Network on Law,Ethics & HIV/AIDS(UGANET) joined Women living with HIV and AIDS together with other Partners including Akina Mama wa Africa, NAFOPHANU, NGEN+, NACOA, Mama's Club, UWONET, NACWOLA among others in a peaceful demonstration reacting to an article which appeared in the Monitor Newspaper on 15th August 2008 in which a Man stabbed his Wife to death on allegations that she infected him with HIV.Many cases of Violence have continued to be inflicted upon Women in Uganda, these acts violates the rights of Women to enjoy life, healthy living and affect their families as well especially the Children. This Demonstration was to address these issues and argue the Government to take strict measures on these matters.
